Buellton, Calif. - The daily agenda for Team Type 1 has accelerated as the end of training camp nears.
Sunday and Monday were filled with meetings, a team photo shoot that included both the pro and elite team riders, and more long training rides bathed in beautiful sunshine and warm temperatures.
Insulet Corporation Director of Marketing Elisabeth Vivaldi spent several hours with the team to explain the OmniPod insulin delivery system. Unlike any conventional insulin pump, the OmniPod System makes diabetes a smaller part of life, by providing convenience, comfort and ease of use.
Jay Dunigan, director of professional relations for Abbott Diabetes Care, met with riders and staff to talk about the FreeStyle Lite Blood Glucose Monitoring System. Monitoring glucose levels provides information about the effects of food intake, medication, activity and stress as glucose levels constantly change. Self-monitoring provides results that are used to determine if an adjustment needs to be made.
Also on hand and presenting to the team was Orbea’s U.S. Marketing Director, Justin Slarks. Showing off the team’s Orca (race bicycle) and Opal (training bike) models, he explained how the carbon fiber form of the bike eliminates road vibration and efficiently channels energy. Visit the Orbea website to use the innovative – and comprehensive – online customer ordering system to build a bike to your specifications.
